Fundraising

What is the Rosa Parks PTA Annual Fund?

Established in 2015, The Rosa Parks PTA Annual Fund is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year and helps pay for vital programs not covered by Berkeley Public School funds. It’s one of the easiest and most effective ways we can raise money for our amazing school.

WHY SHOULD I GIVE? (i.e., I already give to other RP Fundraisers)

This year, the Rosa Parks PTA goal is to raise $200,000 to cover specific, budgeted PTA line items. We cannot rely on district funding alone to cover the cost of the education your child receives at Rosa Parks. The PTA spends 100% of the money raised the previous year to help fill the gap (after operations costs).

PTA Fundraisers cover a variety of PTA programs. This year, the Annual Fund will directly cover the cost of School Site Committee Grants, PTA Grants, Programs and Events including, but not limited to:

PTA Grants:
Teacher Grants
Science Lab Materials
Summer Reading Club
Kids Village Enrichment Scholarships
Mock Trial
Cooperative Play Games for ASH
Art at Recess
Sensory Stations
Tech Challenge
Artist in Residence
Afterschool Enrichment Materials
Makers Space
STEAM Supplies
Mosaic Resources
PTA Events & Programs:
African Descent Advisory Committee (ADAC)
LGBTQ Families Committee
Green Team
LHS Family Math Night
Green Schoolyard Committee
5th Grade Graduation
Welcome Events
Teacher/Staff Appreciation
Community Mingles
FRC Support & Family Nights
Speakers & Events
Childcare for Community Meetings

HOW MUCH?

This year, the PTA hopes to spend more than $600 per child.  Donations of ANY amount are welcome and appreciated.  One useful guideline is ONE MONTH of what you budgeted for preschool, child care or summer camp.
