Berkeley Unplugged
Berkeley Unplugged
Berkeley Unplugged is a parent and educator collective based in Berkeley, California, committed to promoting healthy, research-informed approaches to screens and digital media — in our schools and homes. Founded in 2026, our community spans Berkeley's public and independent schools and is organized around two pillars: engaging families in delaying smartphones and social media for children, and advocating for stronger school technology and media literacy policies across BUSD. As a movement, we believe that when families and schools act together, we can shift what feels normal — creating more space for kids to be present, curious, and genuinely connected in real life.
