The Rosa Parks PTA Annual Read-a-thon is our #1 fundraiser
The Read-a-Thon will take place March 9-20, 2020
It's a great opportunity for our community to support student reading initiatives and provide support for the school. Students are encouraged to read as much as they can and solicit family, friends, and neighbors to make a pledge for their efforts. After the reading ends, students report on their reading achievements and collect money from their sponsors. The money raised from the Read-a-thon supports essential school programs such as reading and math intervention programs and enrichment activities.
Prizes are awarded to top individual performers and classrooms. Prizes have included gift certificates, ice pop and pizza parties, trophies and much more. Students who get 10 or more sponsors are entered into a draw to win the opportunity to SLIME PRINCIPAL Flynn at the end of the Read-a-thon assembly!!!

March 12, Thursday: Pop-up book giveaway during recess periods.

March 15, Sunday, 12–3pm: Pegasus Books on Solano will host our teachers reading stories, and 20% of sale proceeds go to Rosa Parks!
March 17, Tuesday: Dress as your favorite book character!
March 19, Thursday: Zachary’s Pizza on Solano gives 15% of its sales all day to Rosa Parks. Just mention Rosa Parks or bring your flyer to get the credit for our school. Come for the pizza, and then go next door to Pegasus Bookstore to purchase more books at the fundraiser!
March 20, Friday, until 3pm: Last day to count reading minutes! And, a Popcorn Party and Thank You event for students. We could use some extra parent help passing out popcorn to 485 kids. Please sign up here: www.volunteersignup.org/R8HMY
March 23–25, Monday-Wednesday: Turn in reading logs and pledges to teachers.
March 27, Friday: Winners announced and sliming of Ms. Flynn!
